I missed my bus

I work in downtown Seattle and luckily for me, there's a bus that comes right by our apartment. It's convenient because it goes straight to downtown and drops me off just a few blocks away from work. No transfers for me! But it only runs for a few hours in the morning, and a few hours in the evening. The other week, Jerry had a day off from work but I didn't so it was one of the very few times that he would get to sleep in while I went to work.

Well, that's how it was supposed to go. But I kind of missed my bus. My bus stop is about 7 minutes away (walking) from the moment I leave our apartment. And that particular day, I was about 20 seconds too late. 20 seconds! As soon as I got to the top of the hill, I saw my bus stop & my bus driving away. NOOOOO. So I called Jerry, woke him up, and he took me to the nearest park & ride to catch the bus from there. He got to sleep in for a total of 7 minutes and 20 seconds that day :)

Things that make you feel naked.

Is that a weird title? It kinda is. Parents are reading this and raising an eyebrow or two. Sorry parents.

Anyways, there's a couple of things I absolutely need to have before leaving the house. Otherwise I feel... naked. Naked! Hah. My clothes for one thing obviously. But also my phone, a necklace or some earrings, my eyebrows (yes gotta have those brows on guys), and my watch. I started becoming a watch person a few years ago when my mama let me use hers during a sister trip. And after that I couldn't leave the house without one on. It makes me feel nakey. Ick. Don't like it.

I already have a few watches and today I'm wearing my new watch I got from JORD Wood Watches. They're seriously sooooo gorgeous you guys! And I can't believe I get to own one of these beauties. Jerry was a bit jealous when he saw mine. He's become a watch person too. Maybe one day Jerry ;) I was also genuinely impressed with the craftsmanship and with how sturdy the watch felt. Sometimes you just never know what you're gonna get ya know? I'll admit I was a bit skeptical about what a wood watch was going to be like but they definitely don't disappoint. They'd be an awesome gift for someone special too. Especially if leather or metal watches aren't really your thing. So make sure to check them out okay? Thank you JORD Watches! Absolutely love love love my new arm candy :)

Quit being lazy.

Marsaaaaaa. Quit it.
Sometimes I need to give myself a pep talk to get going again. I don't know what it is but blogging seems so hard lately. Why that is? I have no idea. Actually, yes I do. It's probably because of social media. It's taking over the world! Ugh, instagram. You ruin everything!!!! Just kidding I love you. It's just easier to stay active through those little apps and things ya'know? #firstworldproblems. I seem to have a lot of those :/

Oh ya, and if you wanna know who won the giveaway for $50 to Sole Society, click here.

Some exciting news.

So so sooooooooooooooo. Let me start by asking you a question. Did you look at the title of this post and automatically think, "oh my gahhhhhsh she's pregnant!" Well if you did, then you're wrong. haha. sowweee. It's okay, my mama thought the same thing. Anyways, onto the news part. So I got a job! I've sorta been looking around for a while now and something finally came up for me. It's at a salon called Robert Leonard and it's totally my dream job right now. It's a beautiful salon that's going to offer me an apprenticeship position with advanced training which is exactly what I was looking for. And also, I start tomorrow. Eep! It'll be a full time gig so Jerry will have to help out with house chores a bit more. But he's totally supportive and has always been helpful anyways so it shouldn't be too much of a change.

p.s. if any of you live in the Seattle-ish area and would like a free haircut on days I need a "model," let me know! Leave a comment or shoot me an email and I will keep you in mind when the time comes :)

Style note:
Bright colored pumps are my newest ob-se-ssion!! *insert heart face* Especially ones with a little heel that make them totally everyday wearable. They're a great way to transition into spring & summer and the pointed toe also helps to elongate my little legs. Add a statement necklace and voila! Your super comfy slouchy outfit suddenly looks put together :)

Have a great week everyone!

When you do whatchu gotta do.

The other day I got dressed and thought, hey lookin pretty cute today. Hah. So I grabbed my camera and tried to take some selfie-type outfit photos. But it was a pretty gloomy day so I wasn't getting much natural light in the bedroom. So, I moved into the living room and guess what? Still not much light. I was about to give up when I thought of this brilliant idea to take my mirror out onto the balcony, and take photos out there. It seems kinda ridiculous, I'll admit. But getting a natural lit photo is kinda important to me. So that's what I did. I'm sure I looked crazy to the people walking/driving by. And at those times I think... I really wish I had an iphone right now. Or at least something that would take nice photos without having to lug around a huge camera.

ummmm...... #FirstWorldProbs. Am I right?

Seriously though. It makes taking selfies a heck of a lot easier and sneakier. Because les'be'honest people. Who looks crazier? The girl taking a selfie with her cute little iphone? Or the girl taking a selfie with her huge dslr?

Yep.

On being an introvert.

Jerry is an introvert. I'm kinda in the middle I guess. It depends on my mood and who I'm with. So ever since we got married, we've really just enjoyed keeping to ourselves and doing our on thang, on our own time, in our own space. But recently we've been pretty social and out going as a couple so I'm kinda proud of us. Not that we've been completely anti-social up to now, but we definitely enjoy our time to ourselves rather than having to socialize and be out and about all the time. Does that make sense?

Recently though, we've been hanging out with our usual group of friends and have had company almost every weekend. Whaaaaat? That's like an introvert's worst nightmare. But ya, we have. And it's been pretty fun actually. I guess it's nice that we've found a group of people who make us feel comfortable and also have similar interests. Also, there's always good food so that helps of course ;)

A gift idea + Discount code. Also, I made Jerry model for me.

So one of the "perks" of being a blogger's husband is that from time to time, Jerry gets to model for me. I know, so lucky! And he totally loves it too ;) hah. For one of Jerry's birthday presents this year, I got him this Daniel Wellington watch because I got the amazing opportunity to collaborate with them.

I got Jerry the Classic Bristol in silver. Even though they have watches specifically for men and women, you can totally wear a men's watch if you like the bigger face, and a women's if you like the smaller face. Honestly, I tried on the watch I got for Jerry and I really like the bigger face on my wrist so I already plan on borrowing it from time to time :)

The watch straps are also interchangeable so you can get a lot of different looks with just one watch which is really nice. Right now they're having an awesome promotion where you can get 50% off any nato strap with a purchase of a leather watch. Shipping is also free worldwide so that's awesome of course. Oh, and one last thing!!! Daniel Wellington is giving all of you 15% off with the code "holidaymarsa" that's good until January 15th! The watches are beautiful guys. I promise! I would never promote something that I don't think you guys would love. Make sure to check them out kay?
