I missed my bus

I work in downtown Seattle and luckily for me, there's a bus that comes right by our apartment. It's convenient because it goes straight to downtown and drops me off just a few blocks away from work. No transfers for me! But it only runs for a few hours in the morning, and a few hours in the evening. The other week, Jerry had a day off from work but I didn't so it was one of the very few times that he would get to sleep in while I went to work.

Well, that's how it was supposed to go. But I kind of missed my bus. My bus stop is about 7 minutes away (walking) from the moment I leave our apartment. And that particular day, I was about 20 seconds too late. 20 seconds! As soon as I got to the top of the hill, I saw my bus stop & my bus driving away. NOOOOO. So I called Jerry, woke him up, and he took me to the nearest park & ride to catch the bus from there. He got to sleep in for a total of 7 minutes and 20 seconds that day :)

Weekends. I don't know how to blog anymore.

So I realize I've been the worst about blogging. Part of it is because it takes a lot of time and of course I'm just sooooooooooooo busy from being busy.  Not really. That's definitely just an excuse. I think I've started to fall out of blogging to be honest. Or maybe I'm just in a funk. A year long funk. Do funks even last that long?

Something that's caught my attention though is vlogging! You know, video blogging. On youtube and stuff. I used to be super into making short clips and cheesy videos in high school but never pursued it because I didn't know how. I still don't know how. But now I'm thinking, "hey maybe this is my new thang." But as I move into vlogging, I think I'll still try to incorporate the blog as well. Thanks for sticking around you guys :) changes to come I guess.

But before that, here's some pictures from the past few weekends.

Jerry became a pilot. He didn't really but doesn't he look like one?

Work decided to feed us and a few of Jerry's colleagues an awesome dinner. They graduated from a special 2-year program at work and also, they're just really awesome. Food was pretty spectacular too. Jerry and I always try to get different entrees so that we can takes bites of each other's food. Perks of having a significant other! Also, Jerry gets to finish off what I don't eat.

The Fourth. Jerry's co-worker who also happens to be from Hawaii invited us over for a July 4th potluck. People go crazy with their fireworks around here. Like... spending $20,000 on fireworks kind of crazy. Seriously people.

Mariners game. Jerry's uncle invited us to a Mariners game and it was soooooo fun! The Mariners got killed but we were just two or three seats up from the field so getting hit by a baseball wouldn't have been surprising. It was also in the 90s that day. I got a watch tan.

Did you know that Mc Donald's soft serve ice cream is suuuuuper amazing? Because it is. Especially on a hot summer day when you don't have ac in your car. I don't even know how they make it so soft and creamy. We also looked up the nutritional facts and it only has 165 calories or something like that. That's not bad for Mc Donalds. Just in case you were wondering.

there once was a time when i was blogging everyday.

the new schedule really knows how to consume me i guess.
it's been really good though!
i love being in the salon and being surrounded by such talented people.

i also feel like i appreciate my weekends a lot more now.

he totally supports me even though things have gotten just a bit more hectic around here.

The Pumpkin Patch.

aaaaaaaaaaaand lots of pictures.
so here we go!

^^  notice how short jerry makes me look. i must have been sinking into the mud or something :D ^^

First of all, look at all those pumpkins! We went with some friends from the ward and this was my very first pumpkin patch experience ever. I was pretty dang excited about it. I mean, the only other time I've seen so many pumpkins is when they're lined up outside of a grocery store or something. Not that exciting.

We also lucked out because it didn't rain that day. Dry pumpkin patchers, are happy pumpkin patchers. It's true! The weather here has been getting a bit colder though. And it's starting to rain a lot again. But honestly, I'm not all that bothered by it. It makes everything green and that's okay with me.

Oh ya! And also, we did the corn maze thing.

It was muddy.
Real muddy.

Weekend Recap. And a look into 30 years from now.

So we went to a piano recital this past weekend. That was fun. A couple hours of pure classical music. I felt like some fancy lady. There were also lots of elderly folk. So I guess that makes old people fancy too. Haha. Seriously though, it kinda seems like that's the it thing to do once you hit a certain age. Because as much as I enjoyed the recital, I feel like I would appreciate it a lot more if I had 30 more years or so under my belt. Hah. Am I just stereotyping or what? Probably. But anyways.....
Jerry also made me pancakes for breakfast and his pancakes are kinda the best thing ever. Especially when I get to eat them in bed or in front of the tv. Married life happiness right there. Hopefully in 30 years he'll still be making me pancakes in the morning. And maybe by then, we'll be enjoying our breakfast with some fancy Beethoven music playing in the background. Ya, I can totally see it.

Life Bits.

1. Jerry bought me some booties from steve madden on clearance. 2 for $40. Soooo ya. He's awesome. Second pair has yet to be documented so you can expect to see those sometime in the near future.
p.s. Does this angle make my legs look oober skinny or what. Well, I don't mind.

2. Flannels. Duh. Self explanatory.

3. That would be my hair. Guys. I cut my own hairrrrrrrr! And that's a lot more than just bangs if you couldn't tell already. End result photos to come later. Maybe :/

4. Pizza date.  I always get the same exact one. But it's bbq pizza heaven soooo you really can't blame me.

5. On our way to.......... okay I have no idea. I just like to take pictures of Jerry driving me places I guess.

6. Ice cream Wednesdays! It's a thing now. Not really. But in my head it is :)

Life Bits. End.

Life of a graduate.

Being the 5th time I've graduated, (yes I counted preschool, elementary, high school, and college), there's nothing much to say really. Unless you count sleeping in, being a couch potato, and eating whatever I want, whenever I want a big deal....then yes, I guess life right now is a pretty big deal. Really though, I can't wait to get going again. I've picked out a few salons that I'm really interested in but there's a lot more research and pondering that needs to be done before we make any big decisions. Plus we have some events coming up within the next couple of weeks so no work for me until those things are out of the way. Not that I'm complaining.

On a side note, Jerry biked to work and back home the other day. Burned about 800 calories. Like. A. Boss. And that was after a couple months or so of taking a break from biking might I add. He's pretty much a spartan my husband. Except the next day he was feeling it baaaad. So naturally I laughed at him for pushing himself too hard like he always does. And then I nursed him back to health of course. Such a good wife I am.

13 months.

That's how long it takes to become a certified cosmetologist and we did it guys! WE did it. Because I honestly couldn't have done it without my family and friends. Especially Jerry, my mom, and all of my sweet cosmo friends at school. They made my long days totally worth it. And guys, I still can't believe it's already all over. Mostly because I never thought I would actually do this.  So I have to thank my mama for that one. She's the one who initially put the thought in my head. And without her support, I'm not so sure I would have gone through with it. Thanks mom!

I still have the state board exam to take (yawn) but I'm so excited for what's next! The fact that my job will entail me to help others feel beautiful just makes me feel so happy inside. Cheesy, but true. And absolutely satisfying. I definitely have a lot more I want to learn but I'm proud of what I've learned this past year. So thank you again to everyone for your support. And a special one to Jerry. For being the most supportive husband anyone could have ever asked for. Cooking, cleaning, and dealing with my stressed out self. I love yahs :)

p.s. how about these flowers right?! this guy i tell you, he really is the best.

and obviously, also thinks he's real cute too.
which i must admit, he kinda really is <3
