I missed my bus

I work in downtown Seattle and luckily for me, there's a bus that comes right by our apartment. It's convenient because it goes straight to downtown and drops me off just a few blocks away from work. No transfers for me! But it only runs for a few hours in the morning, and a few hours in the evening. The other week, Jerry had a day off from work but I didn't so it was one of the very few times that he would get to sleep in while I went to work.

Well, that's how it was supposed to go. But I kind of missed my bus. My bus stop is about 7 minutes away (walking) from the moment I leave our apartment. And that particular day, I was about 20 seconds too late. 20 seconds! As soon as I got to the top of the hill, I saw my bus stop & my bus driving away. NOOOOO. So I called Jerry, woke him up, and he took me to the nearest park & ride to catch the bus from there. He got to sleep in for a total of 7 minutes and 20 seconds that day :)

Good Lookin Couples.

We definitely fall into that category. Am I right? Right.

In all seriousness though, I'm definitely going to regret ever posting that last photo up there.
And also, did you know that Jerry is actually a model?

;)

happy monday!

Something kinda funny.

In case you were wondering how one should react when one's favorite team just scored the game winning touchdown to make it to the Super Bowl.... This. Is. How. It's. Done.

brought to you by jerry, the bro, and the bro's gf.

I don't blog during vacation. That's what I decided.

but then i realized, "oh wait, I never blog anymore." haha :p

Merry Christmas everybody! I hope you're all surrounded by loved ones. This year me and Jerry are spending it solo. Just the two of us. And whenever I say something like, "too bad we're not spending Christmas with family this year." He says, "but I am your family!" Oh..... right! Of course! ;)

The Time I fell off my bed.

Ah, yes. What a fun time. I remember it so clearly. Because well, it was yesterday. Last night to be exact. I fell off my bed last night. I'm 24 years old and I still fall off my bed. I thought I was over that stage of my life but apparently not. I've had a few other instances where I almost fell off but usually I catch myself right before it happens. Luckily our bed is quite low so no damage was done. Except for maybe a little stab to my ego. Oh, and Jerry just kept sleeping. Sound asleep. Good thing I've got those ninja skills to stay stealthy even when I'm falling off the bed.

On a side note, it's almost Christmas! Whaaat? We haven't even done our Christmas card yet. Hah. So it probably won't say "Merry Christmas." Maybe something a little more vague like "Happy Holidays" to cover it all :)
whoohooo procrastinators unite!

Married Life Funnies: Don't ask your husband about makeup.

After putting eyeshadow on just one eye:
me: can you see the difference between this eye and this eye??
jerry: hmmm... yes?
me: really?
jerry: ya! one is your left eye, and the other is your right eye.

-_____-

no.
at least he tried though.

On being married to a sports fan.

So Jerry looooves sports. Especially football. He likes that stuff a lot. So a while back, he got us both some Seahawk jerseys since he's always been a fan. And depending on the day, we'll wear them out for things like grocery shopping or even a date night. And today (Sunday), there was a game going on so after church, Jerry busted out his jersey and wore it to watch the game on tv. But to his surprise, I wasn't changing into my jersey. This is how the conversation went:

jerry: you're not changing into your jersey?!?
me: mmm no?... why would i?
jerry: because the game's on right now!
me: oh, but i want to be comfy.
jerry: the jersey is comfy.
me: but not as comfy as my night dress (i always wear it around the house)
jerry: well nothing is comfier than your night dress though....  :(

He was pretty bummed. And also sounded quite defeated because his dear wife wouldn't wear his team's jersey around the house during game time. Such is the life of a sports fan.

Life of a graduate.

Being the 5th time I've graduated, (yes I counted preschool, elementary, high school, and college), there's nothing much to say really. Unless you count sleeping in, being a couch potato, and eating whatever I want, whenever I want a big deal....then yes, I guess life right now is a pretty big deal. Really though, I can't wait to get going again. I've picked out a few salons that I'm really interested in but there's a lot more research and pondering that needs to be done before we make any big decisions. Plus we have some events coming up within the next couple of weeks so no work for me until those things are out of the way. Not that I'm complaining.

On a side note, Jerry biked to work and back home the other day. Burned about 800 calories. Like. A. Boss. And that was after a couple months or so of taking a break from biking might I add. He's pretty much a spartan my husband. Except the next day he was feeling it baaaad. So naturally I laughed at him for pushing himself too hard like he always does. And then I nursed him back to health of course. Such a good wife I am.

how to keep the relationship spicy. according to the book of marsa's life experiences.

1. Eat Thai food. Because that stuff is always spicy.

2. Go on dates weekly. And by dates I don't just mean go out and spend money (although that can be very fun too). What I mean is, set aside a day, a half a day, or even just a few hours to just be together. You know, without the smart phones, apps, internet, texts and all that junk. Because that stuff is just distracting.

3. Compliment each other. Jerry is very good at this you know. And it still makes me blush sometimes.

4. Do surprises once in a while. One day it'll be a cupcake. And other times, it might be post-it on our bathroom mirror with a sweet little note.

5. Take naps together. I don't know why, but just do it. They make for a happy couple.

6. Inside jokes. I would tell you ours but then it wouldn't be our special thing anymore so I'm not going to :)

7. Have some alone time at home. Jerry and I have very different schedules so sometimes he has the house to himself, and other times, I have the house to myself. It makes coming home to see each other much more exciting. Yay you're finally home! *smooch*

8. Share chores. Example, we kinda decided that I do the cooking, and Jerry does the dish washing around here. But sometimes I'll do both, or he'll do both. We both give 100% in helping out. Not just 50/50.

9. Do something crazy. Like baking muffins at 1:00 in the morning! Gasp. Such rebels we are.

10. Take selfies together. Not. Kidding. It works guys. You'll look back at them and either laugh or go "awhhh" :)

11. Hold hands. The simplest thing ever! For me, it's a suuuuuper important sign that we love each other. Because sometimes, we don't really like each other. And at those times, we definitely are not allowed to hold hands. Maybe pinkies, but absolutely no hands. ;)

ta-daaaaaa! and now your relationship is all spiced up.

Girl probs.

me: i wish i could scratch my legs
jerry: so... why don't you?
me: because..... of these!  *raises hands*
jerry: huh?
me: these!   *raises hands more fiercely and also twinkles fingers*
jerry: oooooh. you painted your nails.
me: ya :(
jerry: wow, girl problems.

it's true, it was kinda silly. but it was a real life nuisance at the time. but luckily for me, i have a sweet husband who did the deed for me as i let the nails dry. girl problems for real ;)

some random convo and proof of our healthy relationship.

tee: f21   l   jacket: ae   l   shoes: converse   l  sunnies: c/o zeroUV

jerry:
"i never knew you could be so emotional until we got married."

[ gasp! ]

me:
"i never knew you could make me so emotional until we got married."

[ double gasp! ]

boo-yah, husband.
wife for the win.

Now if that isn't some healthy relationship conversation, I don't know what is. We then proceeded to calling each other silly names and laughed about it. A healthy, mature, relationship indeed.
p.s. i'm really not that emotional guys ;)

MLF: Apparently I have no manners when I'm asleep.

top: tobi   l   bag: free people   l   shorts: f21   l   shoes: japan

According to Jerry, two nights ago, I abruptly woke him up from his slumber in the middle of the night. Why you ask? Well, apparently I had to ask him a very, very important question.

"can we get frozen yogurt tomorrow night?"
hahahaa.

"are.  you.  serious??"
that's probably what he was thinking.
i don't really remember doing that but apparently, he said yes and fell back asleep.

so there you go.
the answer to getting anything and everything you ever wanted.
just wake up your significant other in the middle of the night and ask for anything.
the answer is always yes.

brought to you by marsa & jerry's life lessons.

ps. in case you were wondering, "MLF" means "married life funnies"
and yes, i made it up :)

What Jerry really thought of the bangs.

top: c/o to adorn   l   bag: c/o tailor & stylist   l   pumps: nordstrom   l   hat: uniqlo-japan

Day 1:
me: hey i'm thinking about cutting my bangs
jerry: haha

Day 2:
me: hey i think i'm going to get my bangs cut at school today
jerry: but you look good the way you are
me: soo..... you don't want me to cut them?
jerry: no, i didn't say that
me: oh.. so i'm going to cut them then
jerry: but i think you look great just the way you are.
me: right.

Day 2 (later on that evening, jerry picks me up from school. i hop into the car annnnnnd...) :
jerry: you cut them!
me: yes, i told you i was going to. do you like them?
jerry: i thought you were joking
me: oh.. so you don't like them?
jerry: no...it's just i liked them the way they were before
me: oh....

*awkward silence for 10 minutes or so*

jerry: hey hun, i'm sorry. you look beauuuuuutiful. no matter what you do.
me: :)

Now, as you may or may not have guessed, there may have been some "friendly" arguing that went on after the 10 minutes of awkward silence. But I skipped that part of the story because lets be honest, the most important part was that Jerry has accepted the bangs and loves me with or without them. The End.

Winter makes us silly people.

coat: f21 (very old)   l   skirt: c/o tailor & stylist   l   booties: nordstrom

I don't know about you, but for me, winter does this thing where I feel like I never have to shave my legs. Maybe it's because I wear jeans all the time now.... or anything that covers my legs really. And if I wear skirts, you can bet I'll be wearing some really thick tights with them. One day though, me and Jerry were just sitting on the couch, cuddled up underneath the blankets, watching some of our favorite shows. And our blankets are sufficiently warm so I really don't have to be wearing sweats or anything. And that was when I realized how long it's been since I had taken care of those legs of mine. But lucky for me, Jerry loves me either way. Hair or no hair.

me: i have hairy legs.
jerry: what?
me: hairy legs.
jerry: hairy legs?
me: ya.
jerry: what about them?
me: i have them.
jerry: oh.... woohoo!

that guy i tell ya. he's sillier than me sometimes.

A little stroll.

We had a quick walk through the neighborhood today. It was really only a 20-25 minute walk. It could have been longer except the scorching heat was killin me. Then on the way home, we saw three different colored balloons floating away with a cup of some sort attached to it. Jerry said there was probably ten thousand dollars hidden in it. Doubt that. But it would be kinda cool wouldn't it?

*random convo before going to bed:
jerry: hey, you smell good.
me: really? like what
jerry: hmmm... like lotion.
me: what kind of lotion?
jerry: umm like..... wheat. Wheat lotion.
me: WHEAT?!
jerry: ya..?

he sure is romantic when he wants to be.
