Welp.

 {via pinterest}

Husbands sick. Really sick. He's been in bed all day besides the few hours that we were at the urgent care center. Poor guy, I've never seen him so miserable and it makes me sad to see him like this. Earlier today I felt like such an awesome wife because I was taking care of him and his fever was going down. But then within a few hours his fever shot up again and I found myself lost, confused, and panicking inside from not knowing what to do [worst feeling ever by the way].

Growing up is a funny thing you know. I'm 22 and married. I feel young but when I think about my role as a wife and a mother-to-be (someday, not now) I don't feel so young anymore. I feel like I should be more of something else. Hmmmm whats the word... "mature" maybe? haha.... ugh. I know that a lot of these things that I feel like I "should" be will come later through experience. But as of right now, its definitely confusing and awkward. Like I don't know what to do with myself. I'm 22 guys. But once in a while I'll feel like I should be more like 32. It's awkward. There's really no other way to put it. Plus it doesn't help that I look 17 [thank you asian genes!]. It has its perks I guess, but it also confuses people when they see a ring on my finger. haha. Anyway, don't really know where I'm going with this but thanks for reading anyway. 22, who at times feels 32, who really looks 17. That's me! Aweeesomee. Growing up is weird. And now I need to go take care of the sickly one in bed.

See ya.

  6. aww hope he feels better soon. everyone is getting sick these days! I can relate to what you're saying about looking younger than you are... when people see a ring on my finger they say, "wait, how old are you?!" blame it on the Asian genes :)

& I think I know how you feel.. I've been with my boyfriend for 3 years and I'm 21, we're living together except for the weekends (we have a flat together close to school), and sometimes it feels like I'm 30 when I'm cleaning and cooking and stuff. And all of a sudden I realise: wait I'm still a child, I don't know anything about this, haha!

Anyway, don't worry we all have that feeling every once in a while, you're doing the right thing :)

  12. hey marsa! Your husband will get well again! I hope he's fine again really soon and send you a lot of strenght.
You're only 22?!? Actually I thought you were older (like 27 or so)... but maybe that's because most of the Asian girls I see in the blogosphere wear girly stuff and a lot of makeup?! You look absolutely natural and I think you're going to look young for a looooong time. (like most Asians!!)
Getting mature however is something so weird and it's defintely not easy. Sometimes I really ask myslef how it's going to happen but then I realise that you can see your improvement in difficult situations like yours for example. It's about how we act and think in these moments that makes us be proud of ourselves afterwards. Be strong and caring :)
    beautiful picture by the way.

  13. True story, I'll attain full age in some months and still feel like 15 or so haha. And I even look younger which might has to do something with Asian genes.
I hope your hubs will get well soon!

  22. Wow - you're so much younger than I thought you were! You're my age - and you're married! That's terrifying to me.

But you seem so happy - I really admire you! And don't worry about the Asian genes (I got 'em too), we can just figure we'll be thankful for them when we're 40. And then hate them when we're 60 (ever notice how Asians all look younger than they are until one day they look ANCIENT?!).

I hope Jerry gets better! And that you can relax a little.

  23. I'm a lot older than you (let's just say I'm nearing 30) and sometimes I still feel like I'm not a grown up, haha! And I also look very young, often mistaken for a high schooler. Glad to hear your hubby is feeling better now :)

  24. Hey Marsa, I stumbled upon your blog a few days ago. I came back again today to thank you for your comment on my blog and came across this entry of yours. I can totally relate! I'm older than you, and just like Sharon above, I have plenty of days when I feel like I don't have it together and I'm not an adult. I've heard that being an adult is when you put someone else's needs above your own, so maybe you're already there kid, in the way you've looked after your husband ;)

  25. aww, im sorry to hear that.
    hope he recovers soon.

  27. I didn't know you were 22... I'm 22 as well.

I can imagine that it's different being married at this age but it really does wonders for your maturity. (So I see from others.)

  28. Waah! I almost cry reading your post. Gosh, why I'm so late reading this post. Anyway you're right you look like 17 :) So much thank you to our asian genes. haha! You know, all you said here was true. It is really a lot different when you're married (just got this from my mom and friends, i'm not married yet). I'm also 22 and me and my boyfriend Jerry(whose happened to have same name like your husband) :) were planning to get married too. But were still looking for the possibilities if we are financially and emotionally matured and strong enough to face this decision. I'm proud and happy that you both found the courage to get married and to walk this journey together. :) Everything is a challenge and we always gain experience. I really love your post because aside from your beautiful outfits I also get to learn and be inspired from what you write.
