The DayLee Journal: Honeymoon Week

For our honeymoon, Jerry took us to Kauai. I haven't been to Kauai since I was really little so it almost seemed like a first time thing for the both of us. Everything was so green! Kauai was definitely a good choice because it was really relaxing after such a busy several months of school and wedding planning. Good job hubby :)

It rained a few times while we were there, but some days were really nice.

Our Little Walk

The next day after we arrived, it was nice out so we decided to take a walk along the beach.

There were chickens EVERYWHERE! I wonder if people actually eat them...

There was a sign, but no fresh malasadas to be found :(

Lunch Time

Chicken in a Barrel was ranked high on a couple websites so we decided to check it out.

And we were glad that we did. I got their chicken and it was very good :)

Jerry got their ribs and that was really good too.

back to our hotel and put it in the fridge.

Biking

Jerry loves biking. He's an avid biker. I like biking too... I'm just not as intense of a biker like he is. But I think I want to go biking more often now. And you know whats cool? $5 bike rentals for the entire day! Whats even better? FREE bike rentals for the entire day. Yup, our hotel had $5 bike rentals for the entire day but they ended up not charging us at all. Yay :)

We actually thought about buying something from here to remember our honeymoon in Kauai but everything was wayyy too expensive. Expensive as in $1000-$100,000 art. Wow..

Dinner Time!

And Jerry got saimin. He liked his better than mine.
I liked mine better than his. So we stuck to our own plates.

Wailua Falls

There were a lot of people there. We wanted to get closer to the falls so we tried to walk down a trail. But it started getting stinky, steep, dangerous, and dirty so it didn't take long for us to turn back. And on top of that, I saw a spider. ew.

One Last Meal

For our last night in Kauai, Jerry took me out to a fancy restaurant called the Hukilau Lanai. It was SO good. Probably one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in a long time, if not ever. We went all out too and got everything and anything we wanted. So that was kind of fun :)

   inamona, wasabi cream, and crisp

and truffle mash potatoes, topped

with mushrooms, onions, and

brown butter sauce

My Main Course:

and walu (hawaiian butterfish)

strawberry syrup, topped with a slice of pineapple

White Chocolate Cheesecake:

  fluffy white chocolate cheesecake
        with whip cream and fresh
          sliced strawberries

Everything tasted great. Our entree also came with Sea Bass Chowder but I forgot to get a picture of it. Jerry's favorite part was probably the dessert... which isn't surprising because he loves dessert and that cheesecake was really good. My favorite thing on the menu was probably my entree. I love fish. I'd choose fish over meat any day. It's really hard to choose my favorite part of the meal though because everything was really good. Good food, good company. What more could I ask for? :)
