Hi we're in Portland!

tee: pink ice   l   flats: coconuts via haute look   l   sunnies: c/o zerouv

Is what I would have been saying last week for memorial day weekend if it weren't for the surprise attack brought on us by our car. It started having minor troubles on Friday and since our mechanic isn't open on the weekends, we decided not to risk our chances and stayed home instead. Which ended up being a good thing  since the engine check light went on a few days later. Probably wouldn't have made the drive back up from Portland to be honest. But it all ended up begin a good thing because we had planned on using a certain dollar amount for our trip, but since it got canceled, we ended up doing a bunch of other fun things back home. And it cost us way less! So yay for that! I am also just assuming that our car broke down on us for a reason. And that reason is that if we had actually gone through with our trip, we never would have found our new favorite Korean restaurant which happens to be quite close to our home. And that thought just saddens me deeply. Because we are foodies. And we love our food. So all in all, I believe a 'double yay!' is in order.
Optimism friends. It's a beautiful thing.

  2. love that outfit!! That stinks you couldn't go on your trip, but at least you had the money for the car repairs, those are seriously the worst!

  3. Those car breakdowns are the kinds of things that anyone doesn't have to deal with, much less be hit by. Some of it is due to chance, others due to a previous problem, but we shouldn't be wracked by it in ways that are both unwanted and unexpected. Perhaps it is fine time to get a new car, or at least re-arm the one you are using,. such that it will keep up amidst all strains. I hope you get it all figured out soon. All the best!
