Kids.

Jerry and I have been married for a little over a year now. Before we got married, the thought of having kids had never crossed my mind. Well, I guess not never. Because I always knew that I would want a little family of my own sometime in the future. But I certainly didn't think that the urge of having little munchkins running around would come anytime soon. And just to clarify, I'm not pregnant (don't worry mom! hah...) But I'd be lying if I said that the thought of having kids hadn't crossed my mind. See, Jerry and I are in charge of the nursery kids at church. We've got a few characters in there. The caveman bully (aka toy hog), the charmer, the snack stealer, the whiner, etc etc etc. At first I thought that dealing with those kiddos would be enough of an incentive to NOT want kids anytime soon. But ya know what? Those nose-picking, diaper-smellin, mischievous little buggers are kinda cute. And after a day of spending 2 hours with them at church, I kinda miss them. And it sometimes makes me think... hey I want some of my own. Ah! Crazy talk. Buttttt, it hasn't exactly felt "right" yet. So the mini Marsas and mini Jerrys will have to wait. The thought is definitely there though. And it's scary/ crazy/ exciting/ nerve racking just thinking about it.

oh and happy st. patricks day!
i wore blue because it's the closest thing i have to green.
and also because i completely forgot what day it was.

  4. i feel the same way. we know that we want kids but haven't felt 'right' about it yet. still waiting and the fact that we want to travel more has definitely put it on the back burner.

Justin and I definitely want kids sometime, but not for at least another year or two! we still have law school ahead of us -_- haha... but your kids will be the cutest dang asian babies i will ever see, i already can't wait to see em haha ;)

  8. You are adorable! Love that skirt.

I feel ya on the kid department. B and I are might be ready, but we're not ready just yet. Did that make sense? ha! We just hit year 2 in our marriage, and I still want us to have fun and be selfish for a little while longer. We have friends who have kids, and they are definitely limited on their free time/date nights/alone time/etc. My grandpa always said "Have all the kids you want. But want all the kids you have!" Wise man there. :)

    Happy weekend, pretty girl!

I know what you mean, I've been together with my boyfriend for a while and the "forbidden" thought (haha) slips in my mind every now and then too, especially when I think how happy I would be and how cute the kids would be when they looked like there father - if my boyfriend reads this he's going to be seriously scared off hahaha!

    Great post!

  18. Both of you will be great parents! I had my boy when I was only 20, but it was the best thing that ever happened to me. He makes me life so much more meaningful, and I look forward to seeing his cute little face every morning and night.

All the best in your parenting decision and btw, cute outfit! :)

  33. Oh how wonderful, the "thought" of kids are on your minds! :) Can I just say that when you do decided, oh man, you guys are gonna have a gorgeous baby!!! You totally cracked me up about the nursery nicknames! When I'd help out in nursery I'd also see that every kid pretty much had their own little personalities and antics that were theirs :) That's cute that you are in there with your hubby! Hope you have a great week!

PS: I heart your St. Patty's day outfit, I have to say also that I forgot about that and didn't wear green & didn't get to pinch anyone either ;) Pinching my Hubs is always fun!

  38. Hi Marsa, to answer your question, I live in a little country town in NC. I used to work in the nursery too but half a year was all I could take before I asked to be released. Not that I didn't love the kids but it was exhausting being in there lol! Anyhoo, are you counting down the days to Hawaii? We are planning to visit this year too!

The maxi skirt you have on here looks great *and* comfy - perfect combination. I'm actually thinking of kids soon... when you both know it's the right time, you'll jump in. ;)
